A wireless sensor collector gathers data feeds from thousands of sensors — in devices like utility meters, home exercise machines and oven sensors. It converts data sent in various formats into standard text the user can read, analyze and store. The service is offered by a startup called Pachube. Some systems, however, encrypt data for security, making it impossible to access.
