JOHNSTOWN Shippensburg University opened the second half of Tuesday night’s women’s basketball game against Pitt-Johnstown on a 28-5 run, eventually securing a 90-74 victory.

Sarah Strybuc, who just scored a career-high in her last game against Bloomsburg, improved her personal best by racking up 36 points after going 12-of-13 from the free-throw line.

Caitlyn Deeter and Stephanie Knauer also led the Lady Raider offense with 18 and 16 points, respectively.

SU (7-1) forced UPJ (3-6) into 27 turnovers, but the Mountain Cats still managed to put four in double figures. Jasmine Harper and Nicole Carman led the way, both recording double-doubles.

Abe Massaley and Jay Hardy both scored 12 points for the Raiders (1-6), but Pitt-Johnstown was paced by Ian Vescovi, who netted 23 points.

Ship was also outrebounded 46-29.
